The Town Hall in Tarnów stands in the heart of the city. It is its trademark. It was built in the second half of the 15th century, but it is not difficult to find medieval elements in it. Today, you can find a museum located there.

Originally, it could have been a wooden or wooden-brick structure. Today's town hall was also most likely the seat of the city council and the court. The building was completely destroyed as a result of two great fires in the city before 1500. Later, it was rebuilt or built anew on the initiative of Jan Amor from Tarnów. The Town Hall is classified as a work of the Renaissance. It is located in the city centre, next to the cathedral, and is the oldest and most representative building in the city. It houses the collections of the District Museum. The permanent exhibition is Galeria Sztuki Dawnej (Old Art Gallery) from the collection of the Sanguszko princes, and includes an exhibition devoted to Polish noble art, and a Sarmatian and hunting armoury. From the Town Hall tower, which can be reached by steep stairs, you can admire the panorama of the city and its surroundings.
