Cmentarz żydowski Nowy Sącz

The Jewish cemetery in Nowy Sącz

Kilka różnej wielkości macew rozrzuconych na trawie, z tyłu widać ogrodzenie i wysoki obelisk z dużą na dole tablicą z napisami, dalej wysokie drzewa i prześwitujące przez nie niebo.

ul. Tarnowska 11, 33-300 Nowy Sącz Tourist region: Beskid Sądecki i Niski

The Jewish cemetery in Nowy Sącz at ul. Rybacka, founded as the second Jewish cemetery in the town, comes from the 19th century.
To this day, about 200 tombs have been preserved. This small number is an aftermath of the occupation period, when the macebas were used to pave streets and the cemetery itself became a place of mass executions of the Jewish and Polish inhabitants of the town. In the cemetery, there is an ohel of the Tzadik Chaim Halberstam, even today this is a place of pilgrimages of the Hasidim from all over the world.
